Story and Photography by Terry Check

It seems not long ago that Olivia Culpo was simply a pretty sophomore at Boston University studying communications – now she has emerged as an international beauty and fashion icon with a growing acting career.

Always interested in beauty and fashion, Ms. Culpo honed her talents during her travels as Miss USA and Miss Universe; and has come on the scene as a spokesperson for beauty techniques and fashion forward looks hosting television shows, broadcasting the latest fashion news from New York and Paris, and becoming the new face for Rampage’s fall denim campaign. Appearing as a beauty/fashion icon, the 24-year old makes international news with non-stop coverage from E! Online, Entertainment Tonight, Daily Mail, US Weekly and an ever-growing list of media outlets. Whether you are going to a football game or a sports bar to watch your favorite team, ladies can wear their team spirit fashions from the new NFL women’s collection, launched a few weeks ago featuring Adrienne Bailon, Erin Heatherton , and of course, Olivia Culpo.

Ms. Culpo, certainly one of the most beautiful women on the world, has shared a few beauty tips for all to try.

  • Eat greens and cut back on dairy – Holistic skincare starts from within for healthier skin tone and complexion.
  • Use your finger instead of a makeup brush – For a soft eye shadow, dab your finger with the bronze portion of Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow, and put a little on your eyelids.
  • Start with lip liner – For perfect lip color, start by lining your lips with MAC Spice lip pencil and then add your favorite lip color for the occasion.
  • Balance life with yoga – For better sleep, relaxation, work and social life, make yoga part of your life.
  • Start everyday with breakfast – Everyone seems to be in a hurry, and Olivia’s breakfast recipes are nutritious and quick to prepare. Check them out at http://www.byrdie.com/olivia-culpo-breakfast-recipe/

Splitting time between New York and Los Angeles, the savvy brunette is an up-and-coming actress selected for past roles in “The Other Woman” with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, and “American Satan” with Denise Richards and Malcolm McDowell. Later this year in the feature film, “Tired Lungs”, she plays the leading role of Kate, the wife and true love of Noah, played by Andrew West. Signing recently with CAA (Creative Artists Agency) the multi-talented, trend-setter has several projects in the works, too soon to share, but social media followers can stay in touch @oliviaculpo.

Later this year Ms. Culpo, please call her Olivia, together with her father and cousin will open a sports bar featuring American eats and drinks called the “Back 40” in her hometown of Cranston, Rhode Island. I asked, “What will be your involvement with the restaurant?” “I am not sure but I love to cook and so I definitely want to be part of the menu (selection),” she replied.

Noted from her Instagram site Olivia loves food, especially desserts. During the interview she said, “Oh, I love ice cream. That’s my number one shortcoming. So yes, I do love desserts. I have a major sweet tooth, but I also try to incorporate healthy ingredients into my desserts because I am constantly craving really unhealthy things that I honestly cannot eat all the time because what I do for work…… I like to think of it as the 80/20 rule, 80% of the time you can be really, really good, and then 20% of the time you can be really, really bad. So you just have to balance it out.”

When asked “If you had a day to play, what would you do?” She paused a bit and with a smile said, “Oh, a day to play. Oh my gosh, I would do so much…… probably make something really delicious for breakfast from the farmers market, get a bouquet of flowers and arrange them, probably cook all day, maybe go shopping at some point. Then I would love go to the beach and watch the sunset, pop a bottle of champagne, go to an amazing dinner and that’s it.”

Mode Lifestyle Magazine selected the talented and beautiful Olivia Culpo for the cover story in the September/October issue. During the photo shoot at the Wonderland Studios in Anaheim the beauty/fashion icon along with fashion stylist, Lindsey Nolan, created designer haute couture looks suitable for the best dressed celebrities at the Met Ball or the Academy Awards.
