Italian luxury brand, Zilea, blends elegance with sophisticated nonchalance creating exclusive silk fashions
Story and Photography by Terry Check
After ten years in the fabric industry, Eliza Ryciak founded the Zilea fashion brand selecting Lake Como silks, the finest in Europe since the fifteenth century, and designing garments with artistic prints and handmade embroidery from local artists. Since the Zilea brand is new to the luxury apparel marketplace, fashion distribution is mainly with Italian boutiques and department stores and plans to enter the USA market working with Los Angeles showrooms like PRB Public Relations and select boutiques on the west and east coasts. When asked to describe the Zilea look and women clientele, Ms. Ryciak stated, “The classic Zilea dress drapes with feather-light delicacy around the body, covering only what needs to be covered for the late-afternoon aperitif. Long and slender wrap-around shapes and elegant kimonos float in the light evening breeze, while sheer slips, chic twin sets and voluminous jumpsuit provide just the right amount of comfort for lazy afternoons. This is universal elegance as only Italians know it. So, a “Zikea woman” is elegant, sophisticated, and independent with an extraordinary taste for unique and high-quality garments.
